Morrows

– About –

The story of Morrow’s is one underscored by history and tradition. The original Morrow’s dates back to 1912 when Philip Morrow’s Great-Grandfather, Albert Morrow, opened his first shop in Liverpool. The business flourished as people enjoyed the rich quality of products they offered. Passed on down the generations, Morrow’s was a dominant feature of Liverpudlian enterprise that was unfortunately dissolved in 1994 following the retirement of Philip’s Grandfather, George Morrow.

Philip wants to resurrect that household name in this millennium, a name that was originally established over a hundred years ago. Once more he is aiming to use the hallmarks of history and tradition to win the hearts and minds of discerning customers. In a crowded marketplace the one true constant in success is quality, something Morrow’s embodies through its methodology in manufacturing.

Each sock’s toe line is hand-linked. This is the process of closing the toe seam by matching the stitches on either side of the unfinished sock.  These stitches are linked together to provide the wearer with an essentially seamless toe that is infinitely more comfortable than a machine stitched sock.

The process of hand-linking symbolises what Philip is trying to achieve; a return to old-fashioned hosiery that focuses on care and attention to each piece. But more than that it embodies the core values first set out by Philip’s Great-Grandfather over a century ago; create something that you are proud enough of to put your own name to.
