Kay Walsh receives a Silver dining service from Albert and George
During the 1970's and following the death of Albert, my grandfather, George, ran the business by himself and it was obvious that my father would not follow him into the family business.
During my father's University vacations he worked in various shops, but mainly at Dale Street.
After my father qualified as a barrister and if my grandfather was away he was still prepared to take stock and the wages to various shops.
He also took orders for Morrow's from his colleagues in the legal profession for shirts and so maintained some connection with the business to the end.
During this period my grandfather made plans to wind down the business, with the sale of freehold properties and he did not renew leases on other properties when they expired.
George was the Chairman of the Liverpool Trade Draperies Society, a General Commissioner of Taxes, a member of the Liverpool Trade Protection Society and Captain of the Society of Liverpool Golf Captains.
